So Who Are You, Anyway?

 Hello and welcome!

Out of an abundance of boredom and perhaps a little foolishness, I have decided to set up a wargaming blog. For me, this will be a place to keep track of my ongoing hobby work, including gaming, terrain making, miniature painting, and ranting about future projects I will likely never complete. As I said, a wargaming blog.

Although my official entry into wargaming was through Warlord Games' Bolt Action ruleset in 2018, I think most people who know me would point to my tendency to paint WWII paratrooper uniforms over perfectly good Lego figures as a child as a good indication of where I was headed. I've been interested in history all of my life, particularly military history, and in recent years, wargaming has really clicked for me as a way to express that interest in a way that airsoft, militaria collecting, reenacting, and video gaming have not - although I still do a little bit of each of these.

These days, I mostly enjoy the rulesets on offer from Too Fat Lardies in the UK, primarily Chain of Command but also What a Tanker. I appreciate their ability to deliver a fun and dynamic game that also conforms to the historical period. I'm a WWII gamer, although I am constantly fighting the urge to expand into French and Indian War, American Civil War, WWI, Vietnam War, and other conflicts. Unfortunately for me, TFL has rulesets for all of these periods. So you may see some of that content on this blog someday.

I'll be making posts in the future detailing more of my current collection and my plans for the future, but I hope this post gives you an idea of the type of miscreant you have on your hands here.
